Loose Leaf tea:

Generally tea bags are filled with the smallest particles. I've called mine 'loose leaf grade tea' to make clear the distinction. Most of the Madame Flavour tea is a much larger BOP1 grade. This leaf has more subtle flavours as it retains more essential oils.

Organic Ingredients:

I choose my tea based on flavour. If the tea is delicious and organic, even better. Therefore the amount of organic vs traditional tea in my blends varies by blend and is marked on the pack - some eg. Grey de Luxe have 70% organic certified tea, some eg. Mint Lavender tisane 95% and some eg. Madame's Special Blend; are purely traditional tea.

Fairly Sourced:

I source my tea from the same, known estates and tea factories for each blend, rather than 'shopping around' based on price, as is the custom. This transparency is important. It brings the added dimension of terroir, knowing where your tea is grown and made. It also ensures standards are known.

I loved the Infuser Pod when I first saw it, but soon discovered that those available around the world are mostly made from nylon. This did not sit well with me. I discovered a source of biodegradable Infuser Pods, made from a derivative of corn. They are costlier and more difficult to fill, but this is a decision I am glad I made and stuck with in the face of resistance at doing something new.

Kosher

Several of my blends are now certified Kosher and this is signalled with the kosher 'U' of Orthodox Union Certifiying body on the underneath panel of the box.
