The Idea

To 'surprise and delight' was my starting point, in late 2007.

So I spoke with tea drinking women from all manner of worlds to find out what would surprise and delight them.

Geisha in Kyoto, cabaret singers on Broadway, academics at Cambridge, Cuban Salseras and of course my dear Mimi, who still lives in her tiny apartment in the chic 16th quarter in Paris.

I learnt that :

  • Until late last century, most people drank loose leaf tea in pots. Full of ritual: the special pot, the feel and aroma of the leaves, the warmer, the gentle conversation while waiting.
  • In these modern times, most tea sold in supermarkets is in quick tea bags.
  • Choosing convenience, my friends told me, just does not feel the same. Drinking tea we cannot see. In grades called ‘Dust' and ‘Fannings', imagine that.

And so I created my loose tea leaves in sensual infuser pods. Pouring myself into making each pack perfect.

A little something to make you feel special in these busy times. A Madame Flavour style tea experience.
